Why are these two entities merging? What’s the benefit? What is the structure and name of the merged entity? Can you be more specific in describing the “shared values, principles and vision” mentioned earlier? That sounds great but how do you expect to change the political dynamics? Does that mean you are not running a presidential candidate in 2024? But wait a minute… third parties have come and gone because they are typically seen as “spoilers” and/or they can’t compete with the Republicans and Democrats. What does the new party stand for? The SCIP has ballot access. Is that why South Carolina Forward wanted to merge? Do you expect the merger to be challenged by either or both of SC’s dominant parties? How many supporters does the SC Independence Party have? The SC Forward Party? Have you talked with any existing officeholders about running under the FWD label? What has been the reaction? How many SC races will sport a Forward label in 2024? Who are the candidates?

Both entities agree with 70% of voters who are not happy with the political status quo. Our candidates will value reasonableness, people over party,  compromise, civility, inclusiveness.

Both entities involved in this merger are dedicated to the belief that we can build a new, durable political party in South Carolina that will help strengthen our democracy and tamp down the division and toxic extremism that has swept across our great nation.  We intend to create a home for the most diverse cross-section of Americans ever assembled into one party that highlights the very best of who we can be. We want a transparent, accountable government, with leaders who want to innovate and work together to solve major problems.
