Our Policy Guardrails

Safe Communities - South Carolina ranks at the top of states for domestic violence, gun deaths, drug offenses, incarceration and repeat offenders. Citizens deserve to feel safe wherever they live, learn, or work. The state also desperately needs to re-engineer the oversight of county sheriffs and councils.

Healthy People - South Carolina ranks 41 out of 50 states in overall health.  Policies should focus on promotion of healthy lifestyles, preventative medicine, positive mental and emotional health, and high-quality affordable healthcare for all South Carolina citizens.

Thriving Economics and WorkforceSouth Carolina enjoys a vibrant economy, but it doesn’t work for everyone.  There are two economic realities in South Carolinas: some communities are affluent and growing while others bend in the other direction.

Quality Education and Life PreparationSouth Carolina routinely ranks towards the national bottom both for K 12 and Higher Education

Sound Infrastructure and Sustainable EcosystemBuild and align infrastructure and environmental policies that support the ability for South Carolina citizens, communities, and ecosystems to thrive.

Working DemocracySouth Carolina is, in effect, a one-party state where more than 50% of electoral races have only one candidate and winners can take their seats with far less than a 50% majority. Voters deserve more candidate and party choice at the ballot box, independent redistricting commissions, term limits to end career politicians and the elimination of time-consuming and costly run-offs.
