The South Carolina Forward Party's inaugural state convention was held May 4, 2024, at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Columbia, SC.
Delegates were confirmed and convention officers were elected. The keynote address was given by Forward national board member, author, commentator and nationally known authority on independent politics, Jackie Salit. Ms. Salit described the fast-growing independent component of the American electorate and what that portends for the future of elections and politics. Fellowship and celebration ensued as Forwardists from across South Carolina renewed relationships and discussed the opportunities in 2024 and beyond.
At the meeting, three Forward Candidates were certified:
Jim Andreen, Candidate for Richland County Council
Jevona Armstrong, Candidate for Beaufort County Council
John Delfausse, Candidate for Lancaster County Council, District
And, we certfied three Affiliated Forward candidates:
Dr. Jermaine Johnson, Democratic Candidate for SC House, District 70
Mike Bedenbaugh, Alliance Candidate for Congress, District 3
Bruce Wallace, Democratic Candidate for SC House, District 53
